Japanese Wagasa, White

Ethereal and Airy, this white umbrella tugs the heart strings!

The Japanese umbrella is a stunning, handcrafted piece of history. Fashionable yet functional, the ”Wagasa” can be used as a sophisticated accessory or simply to protect from the rain. The many ribs (40-48) of the umbrella create a cone shape that differs from the counterpart U shaped umbrella, but works just a well. I’ll take it; Cone me!

This particular Wagasa is sourced from a group of artisans perfecting the practice of umbrella-making for over 3 centuries. Bamboo, wood and washi paper are meticulously placed by hand during the 3 month production period.

*To open Umbrella; Hold lower portion of handle while pushing up very carefully

*If using in rain; Drain water off, open umbrella, and let dry

*To elongate the life of the umbrella; When first receiving the umbrella, store in in an open position in mild temperature and a clean environment
